Summary
Thirteen-year-old Brian Robeson is on a plane from New York to Canada to visit his father. His parents were recently divorced. When the single-engine plane he is in crashes. Suddenly, Brian finds himself alone in the Canadian wilderness with nothing but a jacket and the hatchet his mother gave him as a present and the horrible secret that has been breaking him apart since his parent’s divorce. But now Brian has no time for anger and sadness. It will take all he knows and determination, and more courage than he knew he had in order to survive the obstacles that lay ahead.
Character Analysis
Brian is courages because instead of just giving up because he is stuck there. He decides to fight for his life. He does anything he can to stay alive. Being stuck there made him find all the braveness he had this whole time. This shows that even doe the plane crashed Brian kept pushing forward so he could survive.
