N.E.R.D.S-National Espionage,Rescue and Defense Society Summary

So far in my book N.E.R.D.S its about a boy named Jackson is secret spy. He is the popular kid in school and everybody looks up to him. The teachers love him.  Him and his friends make fun of the nerds in school. He thinks he has it all but, his whole world is about to flip up side down. He goes to the dentist and the dentist tells him he needs braces. They give him a big metal headset. When he goes to school he quickly finds out who his real friends are. All of his friends stop talking to him and everybody calling him a nerd. Jackson has to figure out how he is going to overcome this obstacle.


This book that i'm reading is science fiction. I like this book because I always wanted to be a spy when I grew up. I wanted to catch bad guys and get all the cool gadgets. I didn't like that just because Jackson got braces nobody talked to him. I will always read a science fiction book because the interesting. I liked that Jackson kept finding friends.

Down To The Last Out- Summary

Summary-

My book is about a man named Biddy Owens who lives for baseball. He his the equipment keeper and scorekeeper and sometime right fielder for the Birmingham Black Barons. He his in the Negros League. White baseball owners don't want to add to many black players to there team because of the racial tensions but that doesn't let Billy down. The only blacks that the owners want are the ones that react a certain way and not get offended by racism. Billy's team is one of the best Negro baseball teams there is. The civil rights movement is in motion. The people are watching Jackie Robinson and Larry Doby now that they see that black don't care if you make fun of their skin. Billy want's to be like them.

Conflict & Theme-

Billy and his whole team gets screamed at and people saying racial words. The civil rights movement is a go and blacks are fighting for their rights. In the book it say that white's are yelling out the N word. I think the message is don't let nothing get in your way. Even if white's tell billy that he can't go in that restaurant
or theater and there saying racial words he still goes forward and follows his dreams.

Scope Magazine: Call of Duty Summary

The article Call of Duty was about a soldier and a man's best friend.  Jose was in the army and got ask to train a military dog and take out any IED's in Afghanistan. It was a German Shepherd named Zenit. Jose and and Zenit have to go through a series of challenges and they have to react fast but, Jose worst nightmare was about to come true.

This article brought back memories because my uncle was in the army with his dog named Zipper.  Zipper also had to sniff out bombs and make sure it was save for soldiers to walkthrough.
Jose didn't give up on wanting to keep Zenit and had to wait long months until he got his  best friend back.

Mike Lupica: Game Changers

Summary:

Ben McBain is every football team player.  He can play any position you put him in. His favorite position is quarter back, but the thing standing in his way is the coaches son. His name is Shawn O'Brien. His father is a retired professional quarterback and wants Shawn to be just like him. Ben quickly finds out he struggling. He has to much pressure. The whole team is depending on him and doesn't want to disappoint his dad. Ben has a decision whether to help Shawn or to become a quarterback. He just has to follow in what he believes in.

POV: The point of view is first person because the narrator talks in I, me and mine. You read the narrators thoughts and ideas. Ben says "I need to show shawn he is a great quarter back"and " I was so mad at myself for no catching that ball"

Mike Lupica: Game Changers Summary

SUMMARY
I started a book Called Game Changers by: Mike Lupica. So far in my book Game Changers is about a boy named Ben who loves football. He is in his middle school football team called the Rams. His whole life he wanted to be a quarter back but the only thing standing in his way is the coaches son. His name is Shawn O'brien. He is always the quarter back for the football team. His dad is retired All-Star quarterback. The next struggle he has from playing QB is he is to small. The coach puts him as wide receiver. Ben always tries to be the all star of the team and show the coach he has a good arm to be QB. Ben will never give up on his dream to become quarterback.

CHARACTER ANALYSIS 
Ben is a determined player. Although ben wasn't the quarterback he will still try hard and lead his team to victory. Ben is also athletic because he plays football and mostly every sport with his friends everyday.

The Treasure Of Lemon Brown Summary

I think this story is a great story. The story Lemon Brown is about a teenager named Greg. He is tired of his dad giving him lectures and telling them what to do in life in order to succeed.  Greg is walking down the street and see and old building with the the door slightly open,so he decides to go to it because it was dark. He wondered the room looking for what was there and there was only old dirty stuff like a torn couch and rags everywhere. A man came out named Lemon Brown. He is wearing old and torn clothes. He has rags tied up to keep him warm. Lemon & Greg start talking and become friends. Lemon Brown start telling him story about his life. He used to be a Blues singer that made good money. Then his world turned up side down. His wife died. Then his son went to fight in the war. One day Lemon sees a not on the table. It says that his son was killed in the war. The army sent him the stuff that his son had left when he died. The only thing he had was his father clippings and harmonica that Lemon gave to him. Lemon taught Greg to appreciate what you have. So greg went home happy and wanted to hear his dad lectures.
